UBA TRANSFERS CHINEDU OBETA FROM SIERRA LEONE TO ZAMBIA SUBSIDIARY



United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), the leading pan-African financial services institution, announced Chinedu Obeta as the CEO of UBA Zambia. Chinedu is among the six CEOs named last week for the UBA Africa subsidiary. He will be resuming in Zambia from Sierra Leone, where he is currently the CEO of UBA Sierra Leone.


Chinedu Obeta has over two decades of work experience in Banking and Financial services with core experience in Retail/Commercial and Corporate Banking.


Before his appointment as the Managing Director/CEO of UBA Sierra Leone, he has functioned in various management capacities such as Executive Director Wholesale Banking UBA Sierra Leone and Business Manager at UBA Plc.


He is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and has attended various courses in Banking strategy, Leadership among others.


He holds an MBA (Banking & Finance) from the University of Nigeria. B. Agric. (Agricultural Economics – 2nd Class Upper Division) from the same University.

Okey Ezea Emerges as Senator-Elect for Enugu North

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Barr. Okey Ezea of the Labour Party as the Senator-elect of Enugu North Senatorial district. The experienced politician and two-time guber candidate under Labour Party and All Progressive Congress (APC) defeated his closest rivals the incumbent governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi emerged as the winner of the election. Corporate governance guru Professor Fabian Ajogwu has resigned from the board of Seplat Energy; Nigeria’s biggest indigenous oil exploration firm as an Independent Executive Director.
