UNN partners NSUKKA LGA to beautify Nsukka town

The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), has supplied varieties of flowers and trees to Nsukka Local Government Council of Enugu State to boost its Green Environment Project. The flowers and trees would be planted on roadsides. Dr. Eucharia Abu, Head of the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, led the team that presented the items. “The flowers and trees will be planted on roadsides to help create shades, beautify and add aesthetic to Nsukka town and its environs. “The flowers include Delonix regia, (flame of the forest); Terminalia catappa (Indian almond); Tectona grandis (teak), and Sagirus romanzoffiana (queen’s palm). Others are Roysyonia Regia (royal palm); Huracrepitens, (sandbox tree); Acacia sp. (Arabic gum tree); Gmelina arboreal (Melina), and Eucalyptus sp. (gum tree),” she said. UBA TRANSFERS CHINEDU OBETA FROM SIERRA LEONE TO ZAMBIA SUBSIDIARY

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), the leading pan-African financial services institution, announced Chinedu Obeta as the CEO of UBA Zambia. Chinedu is among the six CEOs named last week for the UBA Africa subsidiary. He will be resuming in Zambia from Sierra Leone, where he is currently the CEO of UBA Sierra Leone. FIDELITY BANK PLC PROMOTES KELVIN UGWUOKE TO AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank Plc has approved the appointment of Mr. Kevin Ugwuoke, the current Chief Risk Officer of the Bank, as Executive Director, Chief Risk Officer, subject to the approval of the CBN Kevin Ugwuoke joined Fidelity Bank in 2015 as General Manager, Chief Risk Officer. WHO ARE NSUKKA PEOPLE?

Originally, Nsukka was merely the name of the descendants of Asadu Ideke Alumona, which later became the administrative headquarters of the British Colonial powers. Today, the name Nsukka is used to designate the political and cultural identity of the entire people of this zone. Geographically, Nsukka is in Northern Igboland, it is at present in the Enugu State of Nigeria. Nsukka is well-located geographically. In fact, it appears to be one of the well-located communities in Nigeria. Nsukka lies between latitude 6°, 18′ and 70.00, North and longitude 6°, 52 and 70, 541 easts.
